Andhra Pradesh Police arrested retired senior police officer Vijay Paul on Tuesday in reference to the alleged custodial torture case of Ok Raghurama Krishna Raju through the erstwhile YSRCP regime.

Ok Raghurama Krishna Raju is the present Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Meeting, who was briefly arrested in Might 2021 through the Covid-19 second wave when he was serving because the Narasapuram MP for allegedly abusing the then Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Throughout Ok Raghurama Krishna Raju’s arrest, Vijay Paul served as a CID assistant superintendent of police (ASP) and allegedly performed a job within the “custodial torture” of the previous YSRCP MP.

“He (Vijay Paul) will probably be produced earlier than an area courtroom in Guntur tomorrow (Wednesday). After he’s remanded to judicial custody we are going to search police custody for additional questioning,” Prakasam district superintendent of police A R Damodar informed PTI.

After the brand new TDP-led NDA authorities was sworn in June, Ok Raghurama Krishna Raju, who entered the Meeting as a TDP MLA representing the Undi Meeting constituency, lodged instances towards officers and the previous CM, alleging that he was tortured in custody and in addition for “making an attempt to homicide him”.
