In a disturbing incident, a girl within the Lalsinghmura space of Bishalgarh in Tripura’s Sepahijala district was allegedly assaulted and had her head partially shaved by a gaggle of different girls.
Police from Bishalgarh Ladies Police Station rescued the sufferer after receiving details about the incident and introduced her to the station for security and preliminary inquiry.
Inspector Shiuli Das, in-charge of the Bishalgarh Ladies Police Station, who’s investigating the matter said that the assault was reportedly carried out by members of an area Self-Assist Group (SHG).
The sufferer alleged {that a} group of girls assaulted her and shaved half of her head, probably over a monetary dispute involving cash borrowed from the SHG. “We’re conducting an intensive investigation to uncover the information,” the police officer instructed media.
The sufferer recounted the harrowing incident, claiming that round 15-20 native girls barged into her dwelling whereas she was within the kitchen. After a quick dialog about her journey plans, the group allegedly dragged her outdoors, rebuked her, assaulted her, and shaved half of her head.
She added that the attackers demanded she instantly return the cash borrowed by her husband from the SHG, prompting the violent act.
Police have filed a suo motu case towards 20-21 unnamed people underneath numerous sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), together with Part 74 for outraging the modesty of a girl, Part 115(2) for voluntarily inflicting damage, and Part 3(5) for widespread intention.
