Chennai:
Tamil Nadu will proceed to observe the ‘no-detention coverage’ as much as class 8, Faculty Schooling Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi stated on Monday.
The Centre’s transfer to permit colleges to detain college students in the identical class (class 5 or 8) in the event that they fail to clear exams has created an enormous stumbling block for kids from poor households in getting educated with none hassles as much as class 8 and this was “regrettable”, he stated.
The union authorities has scrapped the ‘no-detention coverage’ for lessons 5 and eight in colleges ruled by it permitting them to fail college students who don’t clear the year-end exams, in accordance with officers.
The Minister stated that Tamil Nadu doesn’t observe the Nationwide Schooling Coverage and the Centre’s determination won’t have an effect on colleges in Tamil Nadu, apart from people who fall beneath the union authorities’s ambit.
There needn’t be any confusion and Tamil Nadu will proceed to the current system, he underscored.
