Padma Awards 2025: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday introduced Padma Awards 2020 to 137 people for his or her contribution of their respective fields. Seven personalities have been awarded Padma Vibhushan whereas 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri. Famous singer Arijit Singh was conferred with Padma Shri, whereas legendary ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas acquired Padma Bhushan (Posthumous). Padma Vibhushan was bestowed upon folks singer Sharda Sinha (Posthumous).
People singer Sinha and famous Malayalam screenwriter-director M T Vasudevan Nair have been posthumously honoured with Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award for distinctive and distinguished service.
Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, cinema veteran Anant Nag and Bharatnatyam dancer-actor Shobana have been amongst who have been conferred with the third highest highest civilian award.
Singh in addition to veteran actor Ashok Saraf, theatre stalwart Barry John, singer Jaspinder Narula and Grammy-winning musician Ricky Kej will obtain Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award.
The awards are introduced on the eve of Republic Day yearly.
