An Indian fisherman, who was languishing within the Karachi jail even after completion of his sentence, has died, official sources stated on Friday.
The fisherman recognized as Babu died Thursday, they stated.
He’s the eighth Indian fisherman who died in Pakistan in final two years, the sources stated.
“Babu was arrested by Pakistani authorities in 2022. Regardless of completion of his sentence and affirmation of his Indian nationality, he was not launched by Pakistan authorities,” stated a supply.
One-hundred-eighty Indian fishermen who’ve accomplished their sentences await launch from Pakistani jail, the sources stated.
India has been constantly elevating the difficulty of early launch of prisoners with the Pakistan facet.
