Malappuram(Kerala):
A19-year-old newlywed woman died by suicide close to right here, together with her household claiming she took the step resulting from harassment from the husband’s facet over her complexion and lack of English proficiency, police stated on Wednesday.
An officer of Kondotty police station stated that the woman’s physique was buried within the morning because the autopsy was accomplished by the earlier night. A case of unnatural dying has been registered and investigation is on, the officer added.
In the meantime, the woman’s household alleged that she died by suicide because of the psychological harassment from her husband and in-laws.
A member of the family stated that they got here to know what occurred after her faculty professors advised them that she was not learning correctly and appeared dejected in school.
“After we requested her, she advised us in regards to the harassment from her husband relating to her complexion and lack of English proficiency. She had not been consuming or sleeping correctly for days.
“We consoled her and he or she went for counselling and was getting higher. Then we went to fulfill the husband’s household and the mother-in-law advised her (the woman) why she was hanging on to the connection when the wedding was solely about 20 days outdated,” the relative advised TV channels.
He claimed that the woman was distressed after that after which took the intense step on Tuesday.
