The Indian Navy on Tuesday offered urgently wanted gas to a Malaysian-flagged crusing vessel with 5 Chinese language nationals onboard within the Indian Ocean. Indian naval ship INS Kirch offered 1,000 litres of gas to the vessel, enabling it to soundly resume its voyage to its subsequent port of name, the Indian Navy mentioned.
It mentioned the Malaysian-flagged vessel with 5 Chinese language nationals was reported to be working low on gas on January 4.
Subsequently, the crusing vessel transiting 225 nautical miles west of Indira Level, sought fuelling help from Indian Navy by way of Indian Navy’s Data Fusion Centre-Indian Ocean Area (IFC-IOR).
“Responding swiftly, a surveillance plane was deployed to observe the motion of crusing vessel and diverted mission deployed Indian Naval Ship Kirch to offer help,” the Navy mentioned.
“INS Kirch on January 7 intercepted the vessel and offered 1000 litres of gas, enabling the vessel to soundly resume its voyage to its subsequent port of name,” the Navy mentioned in a press release.
“The Indian Navy stays steadfast in its resolve to make sure security of all mariners within the Indian Ocean Area,” it mentioned.
