Two Brazilians had been arrested on the worldwide airport right here for smuggling into the nation cocaine value Rs 20 crore , the customs division mentioned on Sunday.
The accused, a male and a feminine from Brazil, had been intercepted after their arrival from Sao Paulo through Paris on December 24.
“Upon enquiry, each the passengers admitted that that they had ingested capsules/pellets containing some narcotic substances,” the customs mentioned in a press release.
Through the preliminary proceedings on the airport, each the passengers eased out some capsules containing narcotic substance, it mentioned.
The accused had been taken to Safdarjung hospital right here “for appropriate motion to be taken for extraction/excretion of mentioned capsules,” the assertion mentioned.
The complete medical extraction course of lasted over a number of days and a complete of 105 capsules had been recovered from male passenger which in flip yielded 937 grams of cocaine, it mentioned.
A complete of 58 capsules, containing 562 grams of cocaine, had been recovered from the girl passenger, the assertion mentioned.
The market worth of the full of 1,399 grams of narcotic seized is estimated to be Rs 20.98 crore roughly, the customs mentioned.
