New Delhi:
The Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) has arrested from Maharashtra’s Pune an individual allegedly concerned within the killing of BJP chief Bijoy Krishna Bhunia in West Bengal, in line with an official assertion issued on Friday.
The company stated Mohan Mondal was caught by the NIA on Thursday in reference to the Could 2023 case. Bhunia was kidnapped and killed in Goramahal village in Moyna, Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, it stated.
Mondal had non-bailable warrants issued towards him after he had gone on the run, stated the assertion issued by the NIA.
He’s the third accused to be arrested within the case, with two others, recognized as Naba Kumar Mondal and Suvendu Bhowmick, having been caught earlier.
The NIA had registered the case after taking on the investigation from the native police on the instructions of the Calcutta Excessive Court docket on April 5, 2024.
The NIA is continuous with its investigation as a part of its efforts to unveil the entire conspiracy behind the kidnapping and homicide of Bhunia, the assertion stated.
