Odisha crime: A pair in Bhubaneswar has been arrested for impersonating the daughter and son-in-law of PK Mishra, the principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, mentioned Odisha Police. They’ve been arrested on fees of defrauding folks following a grievance filed by the police.

Based on the police, the duo, recognized as Hansita Abhilipsa (38) and her confederate Anil Kumar Mohanty, believed to be her husband, have been accused of deceiving folks by claiming to have influential connections.

“They have been arrested on Sunday and booked beneath Sections 329(3), 319(2), 318(4), and three(5) of the BNS. They claimed to be the daughter and son-in-law of PM’s principal secretary Dr. PK Mishra,” Swaraj Debata, Further DCP Zone 6 in Bhubaneswar, mentioned.

The police additionally recovered a number of pictures from the couple’s residence, depicting them alongside high-profile people, together with the chief secretary. The pair allegedly duped rich businessmen, builders, mining operators, and different influential figures in Bhubaneswar.

Officers mentioned that the couple digitally altered pictures to seem alongside influential officers. They used these manipulated photographs to deceive victims, falsely claiming they may help in securing the approval of tenders.

Hansita is a resident of Kandhamal district, whereas Mohanty is a small-time businessman who owns an infrastructure agency. The arrests have been made following a grievance by a mine proprietor.
