Pune:
The Maharashtra excise division on Sunday cancelled the allow for serving alcohol at actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s live performance within the Kothrud space of Pune later within the night, an official stated.
The division cancelled the allow after individuals from totally different quarters, together with Kothrud’s newly elected BJP MLA Chandrakant Patil, objected to plans to serve liquor on the programme.
State excise commissioner C Rajput stated, “The state excise division has cancelled the permission to serve liquor throughout the programme.” MLA Patil raised an objection in opposition to the live performance scheduled at Kakade Farm in Kothrud later within the night.
The BJP chief, in a press release, stated, “Such exhibits are usually not a part of the town’s tradition. It will create a serious disturbance for residents of the world. The occasion can even trigger site visitors jams. Therefore, I’ve urged the town police commissioner to cancel the programme.”
