The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) in Thane has awarded compensation of Rs 31.39 lakh to a businessman who was injured in a highway accident in 2019.
Gopichand Shankar Patil (38) was driving a scooter on Ghodbunder Highway on March 13, 2019, that 12 months when a dashing automobile knocked down his two-wheeler, leaving him grievously injured. The motive force fled from the spot and was booked for rash driving and different offences below Indian Penal Code and Motor Automobiles Act provisions.
Patil, who had an annual revenue of Rs 5 lakh on the time, utilized for compensation claiming the accident had left him with 40 per cent incapacity.
In its order of November 12, the MACT below SN Shah gave Patil Rs 31.39 lakh, together with Rs 25.65 lakh for lack of future revenue and Rs 3.74 lakh for medical bills.
