Nagpur-Kolkata IndiGo Flight Lands In Raipur After Hoax Bomb Menace

An IndiGo flight from Nagpur to Kolkata on Thursday made an emergency touchdown right here after receiving a bomb menace which turned out to be a hoax, officers stated.

A passenger was detained following the incident.

The flight with 187 passengers and 6 crew members onboard landed on the Swami Vivekananda Airport right here someday after 9 am following the menace, Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh stated.

As per the preliminary info, a passenger instructed plane crew members in regards to the presence of a bomb when the flight was mid-air.

The Air Site visitors Management was knowledgeable and the flight was diverted to Raipur. Upon touchdown, it was instantly taken to the isolation bay for obligatory safety checks, the police official stated.

A police crew and a bomb squad additionally reached the airport. All of the passengers have been deboarded and the plane and the passengers’ baggage have been completely checked, Singh stated.

“After full inspection, the bomb menace was discovered to be a hoax. The passenger who had knowledgeable in regards to the bomb was detained and is being questioned,” the police official added.

On October 24, the same menace was issued to an Alliance Air flight from Kolkata to Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) following which the plane was checked on the Bilaspur airport however nothing suspicious was discovered.
